The Intercultural Program consists of day and weekend excursions out of Madrid and cultural activities within the city, helping to create meeting-places between our Spanish and foreign students, fostering cultural interchange, letting students meet people different from themselves, as well as meeting other international students.

The objective here is to internationalise the Spanish student “at home” and to integrate our incoming students among our Spanish ones. In addition, for the incomers to be offered something full of meaning by UFV during their stay with us, by immersing themselves in the cultural dimension of Spain with the help of Spaniards.

I have been on two trips with the Intercultural Program at Francisco de Vitoria University. One to Granada and another to Salamanca. These have allowed me to learn more about Spanish culture, but also about the country’s history. I am extremely grateful to have been able to participate in these as they have enabled me to meet other Erasmus students, but also Spaniards. I still see a lot of the people I met on that trip and I think this program helped me greatly to integrate. For me, it is important to have this kind of program to help us and integrate us, because doing Erasmus, it is not always easy to meet people and arrive alone. To conclude, I am very happy to have been able to participate in this program.

*Note: the maximum award that a student, either Spanish or foreign, can get for the Intercultural Program is 3 ECTS. Nevertheless, the student can participate in everything, whether they need the credits or not.

The same applies if you are a Spanish buddy.
