We are a society of students with many questions and few certainties. We love to research and learn about real dilemmas: to be able to debate, argue and think rigorously.
We are one of the oldest and most numerous student societies with the highest participation and awards in national and international debate tournaments. More than 25 years developing skills in argumentation, logic, non-verbal communication and persuasion. All this through debate as a medium, integration and competition activities where you can meet people of different degrees but with the same desire as you to question and challenge.
Beyond competition, in the UFV Debate Society we are a university community where experiences are shared, friendships are forged and collaboration between university degrees and disciplines is encouraged. We believe that debate not only enriches academic life, but also prepares future professionals to face any environment, be it a court, a company, a negotiation or a public presentation.

We learn while we train. We organize weekly trainings, at different levels and discussion models, mixing theory and practice. We put into play what we have learned in national and international competitions, where we exchange university experiences with other students. In parallel to training and competition, we are a society of students committed to personal development, hence integration activities are an essential part.

To all students interested in improving their way of expressing themselves and discovering the world of debate. It doesn’t matter if you have never participated in a tournament or if you already have experience: there will be activities for all levels. The enriching aspect of society is precisely diversity, bringing together students from different disciplines who share the same interest: to develop personally, learn to speak in public and train critical thinking.

Because we are more than a club: we are a place where you train your mind as well as your voice. At the Debate Society you will find a space to make mistakes, learn and grow surrounded by people with the same curiosity as you. Here it’s not just about winning tournaments, but about discovering new ways of thinking, opening up to different perspectives and learning to communicate with impact in any context.
