Curriculum

Discover how your vocation is transformed into knowledge. Explore the subjects that will prepare you to make a difference from day one.

Module 1: Basic Principles of Audio / Music Theory and Songwriting

Theoretical Classes: 30 hours of theoretical instruction that will introduce students to the basic principles of audio—from the physics of sound to the elements of the production process—as well as the fundamentals of musical composition and songwriting, and in-depth knowledge of Pro Tools, the professional platform for recording, editing, and mixing.

Hands-on Classes: A total of 11 hours of hands-on classes, 7 of which will be in small groups, where students will explore studio equipment and its use, learn different microphone techniques, and gain an understanding of the recording process. The remaining 4 hours will be devoted to individual hands-on exercises using Pro Tools.

Module 2: Pre-Production

Theoretical Classes: 14 hours of theoretical instruction that will familiarize students with the equipment, techniques, and details of the creative process and songwriting required during this crucial first stage of a music production. This will enable them to plan the production properly from all angles—technical, artistic, logistical, and executive—and ensure that time is used more effectively while minimizing uncertainties and problems during the production phase itself. In addition, students will attend a masterclass led by an active professional producer focusing on this pre-production phase.

Hands-on classes: 8 hours of hands-on training with renowned music producers, providing students with their first opportunity to meet their mentors, who will explain how the production—which students will carry out in groups such as TFT—will unfold. Students will then begin the pre-production process for the artist chosen by each group, starting with theory and moving on to hands-on practice.

Module 3: Production

Theoretical Classes: 22 hours of in-depth theoretical training that will equip students to understand the creative, artistic, and technical processes involved in music production, which culminate in an artist’s songs. This training will be complemented by two masterclasses taught by producers who specialize in two major contemporary musical styles.

Hands-on classes: 10 hours of practical instruction led by renowned professional producers who teach the course alongside specialized instructors; they will demonstrate the production process to students in real time and guide them in successfully completing the group project they will undertake as part of their final project.

Module 4: Post-Production

Theoretical Classes: 35 hours of theoretical instruction to provide an in-depth understanding of the phase that follows the recording of all the tracks for a song during the production stage. Specialized instructors will teach students about the three fundamental processes required to achieve the best sound and finish for their songs: editing, mixing, and mastering. In addition, the training will be complemented by the basic knowledge needed to market the finished product, introducing students to the music industry professionals they will interact with during the process, as well as the rights associated with the product (phonogram, author, producer, etc.) and the contracts that govern them. Three engaging masterclasses—two of which are dedicated to mixing and taught by professional mix engineers, and one involving a visit to a mastering studio—will round out this theoretical training.

Hands-on classes: 22 hours of practical instruction divided among individual hands-on exercises in advanced editing with studio technicians, Dolby Atmos mixing in small groups with a specialized instructor, and instructional and tutored post-production training—also in small groups—with professional producers.

Official Avid Certification as a Pro Tools Specialist

As part of the " programme" program, the graduate program offers all students the opportunity to earn official Avid Pro Tools certifications up to Level 100 (PT101 + PT110), which will validate their ability to complete a basic Pro Tools project as a certified Avid user at this prestigious digital studio.

Ableton 12 Live Suite Lifetime License

In addition to six hours of in-depth training on the Ableton audio and MIDI sequencer, the graduate program provides all students with a lifetime license for Ableton Live 12 Suite so they can carry out their creative work—including composition, recording, editing, and production—both in the studio and during live performances using this renowned digital audio workstation software.
