• Bioinformaticians for the interpretation and integration of genomics, proteomics, and metabolomics studies; biomarker studies to support clinical diagnosis; identification and validation of therapeutic targets (drug discovery); genetic research aimed at identifying the molecular mechanisms underlying diseases; and epidemiological studies on diseases prevalent at the genetic level (i.e., population genetics).
• Bioinformaticians capable of integrating data from different fields using new tools and algorithms that have not yet been developed.
