ABOUT THE IRSST-UFV CHAIR
The UFV-IRSST Chair is a joint initiative between the Regional Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IRSST) of the Community of Madrid and the Universidad Francisco de Vitoria (UFV), established in 2023. Its main objective is to promote research, development and innovation in the field of occupational risk prevention, with a special focus on the inclusion and protection of vulnerable people or those with functional diversity.

GENERAL AIMS
The purpose of the Chair is to establish itself as a stable platform for R&D&I in occupational risk prevention, giving priority to applied research, practical development and innovation, through support for training, research, dissemination and promotion of occupational risk prevention, with special attention to the promotion of a culture of prevention in education and the inclusion of vulnerable groups.
Three main objectives are established:
- To promote research, development and innovation in occupational risk prevention.
- To disseminate and facilitate the transfer of knowledge.
- To promote the training of technicians, experts, researchers and teachers in the field

RESEARCH AND DISCLOSURE

CONFERENCE CYCLES
The Chair organizes conferences aimed at students and teachers, providing didactic resources and promoting the integration of the preventive culture in the educational environment. These sessions promote teaching innovation and the use of new tools to improve safety and wellbeing in the university environment.
ACTIVE BREAKS PROGRAM
The Chair develops active breaks programs to promote the integration of physical activity into the workday in order to reduce sedentary lifestyles and generate healthy habits that promote physical and emotional well-being.

AWARDS

INNOVATION AND NEW TECHNOLOGIES
The Chair uses tools that allow extending the scope of the actions to the entire university community, involving students and staff with gamification dynamics and challenges that promote prevention, self-care and healthy habits.
BIBLIOGRAPHIC COLLECTION
A space with access to a collection of articles, books and other bibliographic resources related to the areas of interest of the Chair and open to any interested party from both the labor and academic fields.
In collaboration with the Library, and as part of the Literature +1 project, a bibliographic collection of contemporary fiction has been created to illustrate through fiction those key themes that are a priority for the Chair.
