“My education in psychology gave me a deep understanding of people and their behavior, which is essential in any professional setting. That foundation has been key to launching and leading projects while always putting people first.”

María de San Simón de Palacios

Founder/Chief Executive Officer/IT Consultant at Searchit

“Since I started practicing, I have treated more than 100 people. Thanks to UFV, I realize that my effort, dedication, and training would have been completely worth it even if I had only been able to help one person.”

Macarena Galván Muñóz

Psychotherapist at Crisam Psicólogos

Macarena Galvan Muñoz_OPTIMUS Bachelor's Degree Psychology at a private university in Madrid Study at the Universidad Privada Madrid

“I chose to study psychology at Francisco de Vitoria University because of its holistic approach to the individual, which is evident in both the undergraduate program and the professional master’s degree in General Health Psychology, as well as in the Certificate Program in Systemic Intervention. This educational framework has allowed me to develop an understanding of others as unique beings—intrinsically valuable and essentially one-of-a-kind—while always taking into account the biological, psychological, social, and spiritual dimensions of each patient.”

Teresa Aymerich Tamayo

Clinical and Educational Psychologist and Expert in Systemic Therapy

“Over the years, I have come to realize that psychology is not just an academic discipline, but a way to better understand human beings and their dignity. The professors in the undergraduate program are a model of commitment to the individual. Thanks to them, we learn to view others with respect, depth, and humanity—something essential to our future work as psychologists. Studying psychology at UFV means receiving professional training, but it also means growing as a person. It means discovering that accompanying human beings in their reality and in their suffering requires not only knowledge but also a truly human perspective.”

According to market sources, the average annual salary for a psychologist in Spain is approximately €25,000 gross per year, although this may vary depending on specialization and experience.

What do students study in the Psychology program at the Bachelor's Degree ?

You will study how we think, feel, learn, and interact with others, and what influences our behavior. The curriculum combines biological foundations with the study of human development, personality, and mental health. At UFV, you will learn through science and with a humanistic, person-centered approach.

What is the difference between psychology and psychiatry?

Psychology studies behavior and mental processes and uses psychological assessment and intervention tools. Psychiatry is a medical specialty that addresses mental disorders from a medical perspective and may include pharmacological treatment. Both disciplines can work together to provide care for an individual.

Does a Bachelor's Degree 's degree in psychology qualify you to practice as a clinical psychologist?

A bachelor's degree alone does not qualify you to practice psychology in the healthcare sector. To become a general healthcare psychologist, you must complete a Master's degree in General Healthcare Psychology. Another route is to specialize in Clinical Psychology through specialized healthcare residency training (PIR).

What is the difference between the Master's Degree in General Health Psychology and the PIR?

The master's degree qualifies graduates to practice as general health psychologists. The PIR is the pathway to residency training to obtain the title of specialist in clinical psychology. These are two distinct training paths, each with its own requirements and areas of practice.

Is Statistics included in the " Bachelor's Degree " in Psychology?

What do we learn about the brain and behavior?

You will take courses such as Biological Bases of Human Behavior, Physiological Psychology, and Fundamentals of Neuropsychology to explore the relationship between the nervous system and psychological processes. You will learn to connect brain function with memory, language, emotions, and behavior.

How do you learn to assess a person in psychology?

You will take courses in Psychological Assessment, Psychometrics, and Communication in Psychological Assessment. You will learn how to collect and interpret information, use assessment tools, and communicate results with rigour. This training is accompanied by ethical guidelines designed to respect individuals and protect their privacy.

What kind of hands-on training is provided in the Psychology program?

Starting in your first year, you will work with real cases at the Psychology Clinic and participate in clinical simulations and intervention projects. In your fourth year, you will complete 12 ECTS of External Academic Internships in a supervised professional setting.

Is it possible to specialize in educational, social, or organizational psychology?

Yes. Our curriculum includes elective courses in Clinical Psychology, Educational Psychology, Industrial and Organizational Psychology, and Social and Community Psychology. The elective courses may vary from year to year, and this program does not replace the professional certifications required for certain professional fields.
