COMPLEMENTARY TRAINING ACTIVITIES

University Championships of Spain

In the Universidad Francisco de Vitoria, last October, 12 and 13, University Championships were held. Many universities came to our sports center, to dispute them. We, as Univerrsity Degree in Physiotherapy, provided support with our students to the players, who suffered some kind of injury, overload or, performing pre-competition massages.

Physiotherapy Solidarity Campaigns (1.0, 2.0 and 3.0)

Throughout the year, 3 solidarity campaigns are carried out. In these campaigns, teachers and students meet in the center of Madrid and food and drinks are distributed to homeless people. The food is just an excuse to get closer to them and give them what is really important, company and time.

Rock & Roll Running Series Madrid

Students of the University Degree in Physiotherapy have the privilege of being able to participate in this race offering physiotherapy services. The selected students had previous training, and enjoyed the experience of being able to approach the world of sport in such a recognized race. During this great experience. A few students collaborated with SAMUR to support the runners during and after the race.

Orthotics and Orthopedics Workshop

Orthotics and Orthopedics Workshop. In this workshop the students received a great deal of knowledge on the subject, which will make them great professionals in the future, contributing one more grain of salt, of all those that we already teach in the degree, to their training. Other complementary training activities:

I Conference on Physical Activity and Sport Sciences
Techo Sport at the Sports Pavilion
Symposium Fatigue and Performance: An Integrated Vision
Trail Running: Performance Factors and Training Methodology

Research

The priority lines of research of the Faculty of Health Sciences are encompassed within a framework of interdisciplinarity of the university degrees that compose it, seeking an integrated vision of all perspectives.

With this desire as inspiration, the main themes are:

Dose-response in ergogenic aids and doping: metabolism and performance

Genetics and performance

Load control for performance and risk of injury

Exercise for health (special populations, healthy universities, etc)

Acquisition and evaluation of competences

External and Institutional Relations

In recent years, the Universidad Francisco de Vitoria has enhanced its strategic institutional partnerships with a diverse range of organisations and interest groups that share common values. These partnerships enable the university to gain a presence in various fields of interest and to secure the support, recognition, and commitment of other institutions.

The Faculty of Health Sciences has established a network of strategic partnerships that have a positive impact on the improvement of student training, research, and the internationalization of the degrees. The integration of the degrees has allowed us to develop programs of worldwide recognition, which, promoted by the Faculty, have an impact on the whole university, such as Exercise on Medicine on Campus..

Agile XR - Augmented Agile Teamwork for Distance and Blended Learning at Schools

El proyecto Agile XR – Augmented Agile Teamwork for Distance and Blended Learning at Schools has received support and funding from the Erasmus+ KA220-SCH programme of the European Union. The project is coordinated by the RHIZO network of educational centers in Belgium and the Universidad Francisco de Vitoria (UFV), with Professor Juan Fraile as the coordinating lead. It has resulted in a series of online resources offering innovative strategies for secondary school educators across Europe, with a focus on education in the digital age, including distance learning, agile practices, and web and extended reality (XR) technologies.

What has the AgileXR project yielded:
The results of the project include:

· Practical guides on how to establish engaging and collaborative learning experiences for online, distance, hybrid and blended learning modalities.

· Insights into the use and potential of extended reality technologies in education.

· Practical tools for educators to integrate agile practices and XR/web technologies into their teaching methods.

Who benefits from these resources?
Our resources are designed for European high school educators to suit a variety of learning environments. They are ideal for teachers, instructional designers, school administrators, and educational technology specialists who want to improve student engagement and the learning experience

Navigating the Resources:
Our digital resources are organized into four main sections, corresponding to our project deliverables. The eBook includes 11 resources covering guides, reports, videos, blog posts and guided tutorials on how to leverage digital tools. These resources are adapted to different learning environments and offer a combination of technological support and pedagogical strategies

Project Outcome #1:

Strategies to enhance student teamwork in hybrid and remote environments, combining agile teaching methods with web technologies.

Project Outcome #2:

An exploration of the potential of XR technology for school education, resulting in guides on the use of virtual reality tools for teamwork and learning in online and blended classrooms, including the configuration of Oculus Quest 2.

Project Outcome #3:

Templates and workshop guides for blended learning course design, with tools for reflection and improvement of lessons to adapt to different learning modalities.

Project Outcome #4:

Training guide on distance learning methodologies, a handbook on educational technology tools and a tool selection application.

Agile4Collaboration - Self-Directed Agile Education for Resilient and Inclusive Collaboration

The Agile4Collaboration project – Self-Directed Agile Education for Resilient and Inclusive Collaboration is a European project funded by the Erasmus+ KA220-SCH Program of the European Union that aims to contribute, in a collaborative and agile way, to the development of agile learning in Europe as a learning method. This is closer to people’s natural way of learning and is highly beneficial for students who learn in an interactive, collaborative and self-directed way.

Since agile methodologies have not been sufficiently explored and adapted to the European context and educational priorities, the Agile4Collaboration project was created to explore the application of these contexts in Europe.
