INTRODUCTION
The Official PhD Program in Health and Sports Sciences of the Francisco de Vitoria University (UFV), is an innovative and multidisciplinary proposal aimed at training highly competent researchers in these disciplines in order to strengthen the academic offer of the International PhD School of the UFV (EI- DUFV) and contribute to the generation of new scientific knowledge that supports the advancement of society, science and health of the population.
Health and sport are areas of great importance and relevance in our contemporary society. It is well founded and socially accepted that physical activity, nutrition and sport are fundamental to maintain good health and prevent diseases. At the same time, research in these areas is advancing rapidly, with discoveries that have a direct impact on people’s quality of life.
In this context, the UFV PhD Program in Health and Sports Sciences reinforces its commitment to academic excellence, cutting-edge research and the comprehensive training of its students, through the formation of professionals and researchers committed to the pursuit of truth and the common good, who will position themselves as leaders in this field of study. This program aims to train highly qualified researchers, capable of generating new knowledge and translating that knowledge into tangible improvements for the health and welfare of the population.
The PhD in Health Sciences and Sport was implemented in the academic year 2025/26, according to RD 576/2023.
