CURRENT EXHIBITIONS
Ana Victoria Haddad is a student of the Master of Humanities at the UFV and a visual artist. She is interested in art that transcends the aesthetic to encourage theological reflection and devotion. The works on display are surprising for their ability to translate classical devotion into a visual language that challenges contemporary man. The artist invites us on a journey through two pieces of profound significance, The Virgen Desatanudos and Jesus Christ. Of the Virgin, Ana Victoria comments: “We all have a knot (nudo) in our lives, whether it is a personal, family, professional, economic, health or any other kind of battle, and we send our intentions to heaven trusting that they will be heard.
My goal with this work of Virgen Desatanudos is to help us remember how the Virgin Mary is always looking out for us, her children.
She receives our prayers and not only unties them, but keeps them under her mantle, calms us and leads us to Jesus, always to Him. She directs our gaze towards Him.
May we always keep in mind that there is no knot that Our Lady cannot untie. The gray and white colors of the ribbon show that, as soon as our prayers touch her hands, they pass from darkness to light; from the self-sufficiency of believing that we can do it with our own strength, to an act of trust and total abandonment”.
They will be on display in the Store until January 26 and from that date until February 23 in the exhibition space of the Hall of Residence.
