The Francisco de Vitoria University (UFV) and the Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI Vatican Foundation have announced the winners of the 7th edition of the Razón Abierta Awards, an international initiative that promotes interdisciplinary research and teaching in light of Benedict XVI’s concept of “open reason.”
The awards, which come with a prize of 100,000 euros, recognize works that explore anthropological, ethical, epistemological, and existential issues in depth through an interdisciplinary approach that integrates science, philosophy, and theology.
The official awards ceremony will take place on September 30, 2025, at the Vatican.
“This award aims to create a space that fosters research and teaching that make a difference in our comprehensive understanding of humanity and the world, as proposed by Benedict XVI’s concept of ‘open reason,’” says Daniel Sada, president of Francisco de Vitoria University.
