KIA has brought a real-world challenge to the classrooms of Francisco de Vitoria University (UFV) to prepare students for the job market. The activity addressed the need to expose students to the realities of the professional world in a context marked by the transformation of sectors such as the automotive industry. In this environment, innovation, adaptability, and collaborative work have taken center stage in the profiles most sought after by companies.
Led by Tomás Román, a consultant at KIA, the students took part in a hands-on workshop focused on solving a challenge posed by the company itself. The exercise allowed them to work as a team on a real-world scenario related to the business environment.
The session brought a common dynamic from the job market into the classroom. Students had to analyze the challenge, propose solutions, and organise work using agile methodologies, in a format focused on decision-making and collaboration.
The initiative has offered an experience that differs from the traditional classroom model. The approach has aimed to take students out of their usual classroom setting so they can engage in an activity that more closely mirrors the processes they will encounter in their future careers.
Hands-on training to develop skills
Through Career Paths, these types of activities have served to complement academic training with practical experiences. The goal has been to reinforce student learning through initiatives aligned with the skills that companies seek today.
During the workshop, participants worked on skills such as teamwork, problem-solving, creativity, and adapting to new methodologies.
A program designed to prepare students for their future careers
In addition to strengthening their skills, the activity has helped improve their employability by allowing them to develop key competencies in a setting similar to a professional one. The workshop served as an opportunity to think outside the box, apply current work tools, and gain confidence in preparation for future job search processes.
Through initiatives like this, UFV continues to promote educational experiences that bridge the gap between academic learning and business practice. These types of challenges allow students to tackle real-world problems, develop critical skills, and better understand the demands of the professional environment they will soon be entering.
