HUMANITIES: HISTORY, PHILOSOPHY AND AESTHETICS
- TRAINING ACTIVITIES
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY COURSE (20 HOURS)
The direction of the program offers a methodology course common to the three lines of research (History and Society, Anthropology and Education, and Aesthetics: Imagination-Truth-Reason).
It will take place during the first academic year of enrollment in the PhD Program and is mandatory for all PhD students in the first year of their PhD. It will have a graded evaluation and attendance and participation in at least 80% of the sessions is required
RESEARCH SEMINAR. (30 HOURS)
One of the seminars linked to the research lines of the program and taught at UFV. It can be taken in the first or second year, but not later. Seminar is any training activity labeled as such by the organizing entity or otherwise labeled but which includes several teaching sessions grouped under the same topic and developed over several hours in one or more days with the following characteristics: it brings together specialist or specialists along with students interested in the subject, whose dynamic is to exchange, comment, expose and discuss about that subject guided by the teacher or specialist, but with intervention or contributions from all participants in the seminar. Attendance and participation in at least 80% of the sessions is required.
MONOGRAPHIC COURSE (20 HOURS)
The monographic course must be developed throughout the student’s years of enrollment, although preferably during the second year. It can be carried out in any university or research center as long as it has the characteristics of a PhD course. In any case, only monographic doctoral courses whose content is specifically linked to the area of humanities will be valid for the purposes of fulfilling the 20 hours of this training activity.
A COURSE is understood as any training activity labeled as such by the organizing entity but which includes several teaching sessions grouped under the same topic and developed over several hours in one or more days, totaling 20 hours and whose teachers are always doctors. It will have a graded evaluation and attendance and participation in at least 80% of the sessions is required
CONGRESSES (5 HOURS)
Attendance with intervention by means of a communication, poster or paper at national and international congresses related to the subject of the research work object of the PhD thesis.
This is any activity that specifically has congress characteristics (organization: by scientific or professional society, periodic in time -generally annual-, with presentation of scientific papers in different modalities, etc.).
MOBILITY (150 HOURS)
Mobility consists of any training action developed by the PhD student outside the UFV during the time spent in a PhD program. Mobility actions include training and/or research activities in a university, company or national or international institution. This stay in the training action must be supervised by a professor who at the end of its development must certify that it has been carried out with the required time of at least 150 hours.
