The Francisco de Vitoria University (UFV) has signed two collaboration agreements with leading organizations in the field of nutrition and food in Spain: the Spanish Nutrition Foundation (FEN) and the Spanish Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Both partnerships strengthen the connection between UFV’s Nutrition degree program and the scientific, academic, and business communities, and will expand training opportunities, research, and professional development for students and faculty. The agreements are part of UFV’s commitment to a rigorous, up-to-date university education focused on the real challenges of nutrition, health, and well-being.
Partnership with the Spanish Nutrition Foundation
The framework agreement signed with the Spanish Nutrition Foundation opens up new avenues for collaboration between the two institutions in various areas of training and the development of health promotion initiatives.
The FEN, founded in 1984, is one of Spain’s leading organizations in the field of nutrition and food. Its work focuses on promoting scientific knowledge about nutrition and contributing to the improvement of public health through research projects, training initiatives, and nutrition education programs.
“This agreement with the Spanish Nutrition Foundation strengthens our relationship with a leading institution in scientific research and outreach. This collaboration will allow us to promote new academic initiatives and high-impact projects, helping our students better understand the role that nutrition plays in prevention, health, and improving people’s quality of life,” says Rocío Estévez, director of the Bachelor's Degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics at UFV.
Inclusion in the UNIVERSITAS " programme " of the Spanish Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
The UFV’s Bachelor's Degree te in Human Nutrition and Dietetics has also signed a collaboration agreement with the Spanish Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics to join the UNIVERSITAS “ programme ,” an initiative aimed at strengthening the relationship between the Academy and the Spanish universities that offer this degree program.
The Spanish Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics is an organization with an international presence that is committed to standards of quality, ethics, and scientific evidence in professional practice. Among its objectives are promoting the highest level of qualification for dietitians and nutritionists, fostering academic excellence, and strengthening relationships with universities and organizations that represent the profession.
Thanks to this agreement, UFV students and faculty will have access to accredited training, consensus documents, and professional tools related to evidence-based practice. Among these resources is the Evidence Analysis Library, a library of evidence analyses developed by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, which is particularly useful for literature reviews, writing academic papers, and preparing the Final Thesis (Trabajo Fin de Bachelor's Degree).
The " programme " also provides access to position papers, consensus statements, and current reports published by the Academy, as well as materials developed by its specialized groups and national and international documents from organizations such as EFAD, ICDA, and AIBAN. These resources will enable educators to incorporate content related to the major scientific and professional debates in the field of nutrition into their teaching.
In addition, UNIVERSITAS will provide supplemental training for college students, free access to the Easydiet web programme , and the opportunity to participate in the Academy’s Annual Thesis Competition Bachelor's Degree, an initiative designed to recognize the research efforts of students in Human Nutrition and Dietetics.
“Joining the UNIVERSITAS programme will allow our students and faculty** to access scientific resources** that promote evidence-based nutrition, with high standards of quality and scientific integrity. We want to train dietitians and nutritionists who are capable of practicing with sound judgment and ethical responsibility in the various fields of the profession,” says Estévez about this new partnership.
For UFV, these agreements represent an opportunity to strengthen the relationship between the university and key players in the sector by facilitating the participation of students and faculty in initiatives of high scientific and social value. Furthermore, they will enable the university to carry out projects focused on knowledge transfer and the dissemination of reliable information on nutrition, health, and lifestyle habits.
