We are a student organization full of questions and few certainties. We love to research and learn about real-world dilemmas: to debate, argue, and think with rigour. We are one of the oldest and largest student organizations, with the highest level of participation and the most awards in national and international debate tournaments. For over 25 years, we’ve been developing skills in argumentation, logic, nonverbal communication, and persuasion. We do this through debate as a medium, as well as through team-building activities and competitions where you can meet people from different academic levels who share your passion for questioning and challenging ideas. Beyond competition, the UFV Debate Society is a university community where experiences are shared, friendships are forged, and collaboration across grade levels and disciplines is fostered. We believe that debate not only enriches academic life but also prepares future professionals to thrive in any setting—whether it’s a courtroom, a business environment, a negotiation, or a public presentation.
What shall we do?
We learn while training through weekly sessions that combine theory and practice, participate in national and international competitions, and foster personal development through integration activities.
Who is it aimed at?
For students interested in improving their expression and discovering debate, regardless of experience or career. We offer activities for everyone, promoting diversity, personal development, and critical thinking.
Why join?
We are more than a club: we train our minds and voices, learn from our mistakes, and grow together. We don't just compete, we explore new ideas and perspectives and learn to communicate with impact.
