Science and development for a better world

CIDE is a student society at the Faculty of Experimental Sciences that combines science, training, and networking with international organizations to tackle the major social challenges of the 21st century.

Our goal is to better understand the world we live in and contribute through research and knowledge to building a more just and equal society.

Objectives

We believe in the power of science as a driver of social change, and we work to build a university community committed to the great challenges of our time.

Address students' interest in sustainable development and international cooperation, applied to current scientific challenges.

Build a university community committed to social welfare, promoting skills in diplomacy, cooperation, development, and scientific knowledge.

Expand career opportunities for students in the Faculty of Experimental Sciences, broadening their horizons and connections in the scientific and social spheres.

Promote specific scientific actions that contribute to the major challenges of the 2030 Agenda, driving a more just and sustainable future.

Three pillars of society

Talks and training sessions

We train university students who are committed to society and open to proposing scientific or social topics. We have addressed career opportunities, the Epstein-Barr virus, and multiple sclerosis, among other topics, with speakers who share their experience and research. Send us your proposal.

Participation in international forums

We want to respond to students' interest in sustainable development and international cooperation by offering networking opportunities and promoting concrete actions based on science to address the challenges of the 2030 Agenda.

Mission to Ethiopia

Every summer we travel to Ethiopia to work at three homes run by Mother Teresa of Calcutta. There we help with whatever is needed: from teaching and playing with children, accompanying mothers with babies, to caring for sick people.
