On March 12 and 13, 2026, Francisco de Vitoria University (UFV) hosted the conference Educating for Moral Flourishing, organized by the Center for Education in Virtues and Values. This interdisciplinary gathering brought together academics and researchers from various countries at the Madrid campus to reflect on how education can foster not only moral behavior but also the ethical and human flourishing of the individual. The conference, held in English and Spanish with simultaneous translation, addressed this issue from the perspectives of virtue ethics, moral psychology, justice, sociology, and theology.
Among the keynote speakers at the event were James Arthur, professor and keynote speaker at the conference; Martín Echavarría, professor of General Psychology and dean of the School of Communication, Education, and Humanities at Abat Oliba CEU University in Barcelona; Mario De Caro, professor and keynote speaker at the conference; Glen Pettigrove, professor of Moral Philosophy at the University of Glasgow; Carlos Granados, professor and keynote speaker at the conference; and Chiara Palazzolo, researcher at the Center for Education in Virtues and Values at Francisco de Vitoria University, professor of Ethics at UFV, and keynote speaker at the conference.
