In the heart of the 16th century, a small group of missionaries opened an unexpected window between East and West. Among them, St. Francis Xavier left an indelible mark on Japan, initiating a spiritual dialogue that would profoundly shape the country’s history. That first seed sown by the Jesuit missionary sprouted, eventually leading to the great persecution that tested the faith and identity of thousands of Japanese Christians.
We invite you to explore this fascinating period of history at this lecture titled “Japan’s Christian Century: From St. Francis Xavier to the Great Persecution.”
