The Institute’s mission is to generate rigorous knowledge to gain a deeper understanding of the biological and psychological mechanisms underlying human behavior, with a particular focus on brain function and the cognitive and affective processes that guide social interaction. The ultimate goal of this knowledge is to design, evaluate, and implement scientifically grounded psychosocial interventions that have a real impact on people’s lives and their psychosocial well-being.
Research
Through competitive projects, publications, and outreach, SINAPSICO seeks to bridge the gap between knowledge in basic sciences—such as biology, neuroscience, and technology—and the application of this knowledge to social interventions. This includes raising awareness about the use of social media or artificial intelligence, or directly through social initiatives or interventions grounded in neuroscientific evidence, such as exercise or virtual reality.
Training
The Institute promotes the training of researchers and professionals in this field by integrating them into a multidisciplinary team and organizing a variety of activities, such as symposia, workshops, and lectures.
Collaboration
It collaborates with national and international organizations in both the academic and social sectors with the aim of directly transferring knowledge to society.
