The Francisco de Vitoria University (UFV) has presented the awards for the second edition of the Inclusive Master’s Thesis Competition in Safety, Health, and Well-being, organized by the IRSST-UFV Chair.
The jury announced its decision on December 2 after reviewing the submitted entries. The awards recognized the projects that best integrated occupational safety and health with the inclusion and well-being of vulnerable groups.

The first prize was awarded to Antonio Moreno, author of the master’s thesis titled “Occupational Risk Assessment and Preventive Planning at a Company Specializing in the Distribution of Deep-Frozen Products in the Residential Sector”.
During his remarks, Antonio Moreno highlighted how this work has allowed him to connect his experience with the field of prevention. He stated that his motivation arose when he learned about the award, and that the master’s program has led him to reflect on his own personal experience with service and adaptation.
The second prize was awarded to Juana Taboso for her master’s thesis titled “Occupational Risk Assessment and Preventive Planning at the Jardinclus S.L. Special Employment Center”.
Juana Taboso thanked the jury and the faculty of the master’s program, emphasizing the importance of bringing to light the shortcomings identified in facilities serving people with disabilities. She stressed that workers in these settings deserve adapted conditions that ensure their well-being and labor rights.

The IRSST-UFV Chair, established in collaboration with the Regional Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, aims to promote applied prevention through an inclusive approach.
Enrique Colino, a representative of the chair, noted that this initiative aims to promote workplace well-being, applied research, and knowledge transfer. He emphasized that the chair’s activities help foster a broader and more humane approach to prevention, with a particular focus on vulnerable groups.

The first prize was presented by Eduardo Simal, director of the Master's Program in Occupational Risk Prevention at UFV. The second prize was presented by Mónica Samper.
Also in attendance at the event were María Sánchez, director of the Executive Education Unit, and Martha Pulido, Secretary General of the Regional Institute for Occupational Safety and Health. Ms. Pulido congratulated the award recipients and highlighted the importance of university research as a key tool for improving occupational health and well-being in the region.
In her remarks, Martha Pulido stated that the award-winning projects are clearly aligned with the chair’s objectives and reflect the institution’s commitment to supporting special employment centers. She emphasized that all workers have the right to perform their duties in conditions that ensure their safety and well-being.
