In a world plagued by conflict, health and technological crises, violence, and social exclusion, the International Congress on Forgiveness and Reconciliation seeks ways to restore community bonds and strengthen peace through forgiveness. For this reason, Francisco de Vitoria University (UFV) has organized the International Congress on Forgiveness and Reconciliation at its Madrid campus, to be held from March 24 to 26, 2025 in a hybrid format, with both in-person and online participation. This event will bring together leading experts and scholars from around the world to reflect, from an interdisciplinary perspective, on forgiveness and reconciliation as essential principles for human coexistence.
Francisco de Vitoria University promotes forgiveness as a human skill that can be cultivated, demonstrating its commitment to social transformation and the improvement of mental health, as well as personal and collective well-being. The conference is organized by the UFV Institute of Forgiveness and the research group “First Philosophy and Metaphysics of the Person”, in collaboration with the Razón Abierta Institute, together with the Pro+Tejer Chair at the Complutense University of Madrid and the Institut Catholique de Toulouse. It will also feature the participation of the Templeton World Charity Foundation and offer simultaneous translation in English and Spanish to facilitate global access to the academic debate.
