Europe's future is at stake. Do you want to be in the room where it's decided?

Europe is facing one of the most pivotal moments in its history: geopolitical tensions, a demographic crisis, pressures on democracy, and an identity that is constantly evolving. The question is no longer whether Europe will change, but who will lead that change. The European Summer School is the programme young professionals from across Europe learn, debate, and connect to address this challenge—with rigour , a commitment to values, and a willingness to take action.

European Summer School

Lead with purpose, vision, and impact. The only programme combines high-level training, community life, and direct interaction with European leaders—all within a historic monastery.

The Summer School combines European identity, geopolitics, democracy, demography, social doctrine, and political action into a 5-day residential program that accepts only the most dedicated candidates.

  1. Academic support from day one
  1. Guaranteed international exposure
  1. The best environment for becoming an agent of change

Objectives

LEAD TO TRANSFORM: The European Summer School is back—the programme trains the next generation of European leaders.

Ecosystem

The ESS is not just another course. It is an international community where young professionals from across Europe come together with ambassadors, diplomats, academics, and institutional leaders for five days of total immersion.

Real Influence

Direct access to top-tier speakers: former presidents, members of the European Parliament, geopolitical experts, and public policy leaders. Organizers: UFV, Institute for the Global Common Good (IBCG), and COMECE.

Training methodology

A combination of keynote speeches, debates, panel discussions, community activities, and a final collaborative summary—tried and tested in two previous editions with participants from 41 countries.

programme

Day 1 – What is Europe? You’ll explore Europe’s historical, cultural, and spiritual roots. By understanding where we come from, we can figure out where we’re headed.

Day II – Who are Europeans today? Demographics, family, immigration, and identity. Europe is changing. Who will live there tomorrow?

‎

Day III – Can Europe Take Action? Visit to the European Parliament and discussion with MEPs on democracy, pluralism, and the common good.

Day IV – Democratic Governance and European Common Goods: Europe in a Multipolar World: Geopolitics, Security, Defense, and Transformative Political Action.

Day 5 – Building a Shared Future: Collaborative Summary. Closing Ceremony. From Bystanders of the Crisis to Agents of Change.

Why the European Summer School?

There are many programs about Europe. None of them combine rigour , a humanistic and spiritual dimension, interaction with real-world leaders, and life in an international community in a setting as unique as Drongen Abbey.

1

Young professionals who want to get involved in Europe need more than just information: they need comprehensive training and meaningful networks.

2

The tension between technical knowledge and values often goes unresolved in conventional programs.

‎3

The ESS provides a humanistic, values-driven framework in which that tension is transformed into a commitment to service.

4

To help young people become agents of the common good in Europe, we have created the European Summer School.

5

Why attend the European Summer School?

● It offers a solid education in identity, geopolitics, and European democracy from a humanistic perspective.

● Connects young professionals with European leaders who share their commitment to public service.

● Facilitates access to networks and opportunities aligned with purpose-driven leadership.

● Helps align personal convictions with political and civic action through a proven methodology.
