The Institute for the Global Common Good was established through the merger of the Center for the Global Common Good and the Isabel la Católica School of Government and Leadership, with the aim of creating a leading academic and intellectual hub dedicated to research, education, and generating real impact in the area of the common good.

A strategic hub that brings together rigorous thinking, responsible leadership, and transformative action, addressing the major political, economic, and social challenges of this new era.

Mission and Vision

Our mission is to develop initiatives that promote the common good in politics, the economy, business, and society, while training leaders capable of driving real and sustainable change.

Our vision is to be a leading community in Spain and Europe in terms of thought leadership, education, and impact on the global common good, connected to international networks and capable of exerting real influence.

Develop a sound understanding of the common good, grounded in Christian social teaching and adapted to the changing times.

Promote applied research that leads to concrete proposals for policy, the economy, business, and society.

Training

In the field of training

Design academic programs tailored to both young and experienced leaders, combining an analysis of current realities with practical tools and training in character, virtues, and service.

Create innovation ecosystems focused on solutions aligned with the common good, at the local, national, and global levels.

Produce publications and reference materials on leadership and the common good.

To build a global community committed, both intellectually and in practice, to the common good.

How we do it

Building on our foundation in research and education, we are moving toward an open innovation community that connects ideas, leadership, and action, thereby influencing public and social decision-making.

Where we operate

We work in areas such as governance, business, civil society, sustainability, culture, and religion in the public sphere through theoretical and applied research, specialized training programs, innovation labs focused on the common good, and platforms for dialogue, outreach, and community engagement.

This summer is going to be different! The third edition of our summer school brings together young people from all over the world—with participants from more than 40 countries each year. Every year, we tackle a topic of global significance; the theme for 2026 is: "Rebirth or Irrelevance: Europe's Urgent Choice" June 29–July 3, 2026

Summer Course: The Geopolitics of Organized Crime

The programme place at the Monastery of San Zoilo in Palencia and is taught by Spanish and international academic and law enforcement experts. It is open to police officers and criminology students and awards 1 ECTS credit. June 17–19, 2026
