Our scientific work focuses on understanding the role of microorganisms in health and disease through approaches in molecular microbiology, biotechnology, and bioinformatics analysis.
We work in three main areas of research: the characterization of bacteria that are multidrug-resistant to antibiotics, the study of the antitumor potential of natural compounds found in grape must, and the analysis of the human microbiome using high-throughput sequencing technologies.
Our goal is to generate knowledge that has real-world applications in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases, while also contributing to the development of new biotechnological and biomedical tools.
