Mobility programs offer faculty and administrative staff the opportunity to gain academic and professional experience abroad. Beyond the professional sphere, they also provide an opportunity for personal growth and exposure to new perspectives.

Staff members will be able to participate in three types of international stays: short-term, long-term, and virtual.

Objective

The goal of staff mobility from a higher education institution to a company is to enable participants to learn through the transfer of knowledge or skills and to acquire practical skills.

The goal of staff mobility from one higher education institution to another is to enable participants to learn from the experiences and best practices of the partner institution and to enhance the skills required for their current position.

Duration

The duration may range from a minimum of 2 days to a maximum of 5 days, excluding travel days. The mobility may be for teaching/training/research (PROF) or training (PROF/PAS) purposes. International mobility expressly excludes attendance at conferences, presentations, or lectures, as well as the presentation of publications. Mobility may take place through September 30, 2026.

Types

Job shadowing: a period of observation at a company, institution, or university. (PROF/PAS).

International Week: an opportunity to connect with staff and faculty from various international universities. It allows you to learn about different work environments, attend specialized conferences, discover best practices, participate in specific workshops, put your theoretical and language skills into practice, and, ultimately, explore new horizons both academically and professionally. Training courses: training offered by a company, institution, or university on various topics such as artificial intelligence, new methodologies, mental health courses (PROF/PAS), or language courses. Regarding language courses, only two applications per faculty will be accepted; applicants cannot apply again if they have already taken a course in the previous two years, and two applicants cannot go on the same dates (independientemente de la facultad o departamento al que se pertenezca).

Teaching Mobility: teaching at a partner institution. Erasmus Places Table (PROF) For teaching activities between higher education institutions in programme countries, both institutions must have signed an inter-institutional agreement. A minimum of 8 teaching hours must be delivered during the stay. If teaching mobility is requested outside the programme (fondos UFV), a prior institutional agreement between both institutions is not required, and the minimum number of hours will be established by mutual agreement between both parties. This includes participation in BIP programs and ACE2EU Alliance projects.

Registration

NEXT CALL FOR APPLICATIONS 2025–2026 (desde el 1 de octubre 2025 hasta agotar presupuesto)

Applications must be submitted to the Office of International Affairs (VRI) using this form, along with a copy of your ID card or foreign resident ID, the teaching or training proposal, the host institution’s details, and the letter of acceptance or invitation.

Erasmus-funded mobility programs can only take place in Europe and at the universities and locations specified in the call for applications. Programs funded by UFV funds have no destination restrictions, although they are subject to budget and availability.

The application must be submitted at least two months before the start of the stay, along with all required documentation. If these requirements are not met, payment of the grant prior to the mobility period cannot be guaranteed.

Only one exchange opportunity is allowed per participant during the same academic year, with priority given to first-time participants. The application period will run from October 1, 2025, until all spots are filled, with spots allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Only if spots remain available or if participants withdraw may more than one exchange opportunity be granted per person.

The recipient is responsible for arranging transportation, lodging, meals, and any other matters related to the stay; these arrangements are not the responsibility of the academic departments or the VRI.

Finally, you must notify the People Development Department of your travel dates via the Success Factors platform well in advance.

Erasmus Places

Funding

For short-term mobility programs, funding will be determined based on the number of days, distance, and the category of the host institution’s country. All mobility programs will be governed by the following tables, which are divided into two categories: travel allowance and living expenses.

Travel

Contribution toward staff travel expenses based on the distance between their place of work and the location where the relevant activity takes place:

Between 10 and 99 km: €28 per participant Between 100 and 499 km: €211 per participant Between 500 and 1,999 km: €309 per participant Between 2,000 and 2,999 km: €395 per participant Between 3,000 and 3,999 km: €580 per participant Between 4,000 and 7,999 km: €1,188 per participant Between 8,000 and 19,999 km: €1,735 per participant

Child Support

The amounts will depend on the destination country (la Unión Europea se ha basado en el nivel de vida de cada país) and are subject to a maximum funding limit of 5 days.

Group A: €120/day Germany, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Norway, the Netherlands, and Sweden. Non-member countries: United Kingdom

Group B: €105/day Czech Republic, Cyprus, Slovakia, Slovenia, Estonia, Greece, Latvia, Malta, and Portugal

Group C: €90/day North Macedonia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Serbia, and Turkey

Short-term mobility programs funded by UFV funds that take place outside the European Union will receive a maximum of 1,500 euros in funding.

Thomas More University of Applied Sciences

International Days: March 16–20, 2026 International Days is a university-wide event for all faculties and campuses, featuring guest lectures and networking opportunities.

The theme for this academic year is Navigating the Generational Mix

As our guest, you will be put in touch with your designated Thomas More contact person, typically the international coordinator of the faculty you are working with. A detailed program of activities specific to that faculty will be provided at a later date. In addition, all our guests will gather on March 17 for the joint central day, which will offer opportunities for networking.

Call for Applications to Participate in the Summer Course at Anáhuac University in Puebla (Mexico)

Anáhuac Puebla University is now accepting applications for visiting professors for its upcoming summer session. Courses will be taught in Spanish and/or English.

This is a great opportunity to gain international experience—or further develop it—through a programme shared with other faculty members. Financial support: Anáhuac Puebla will cover accommodation and living expenses (ver detalles en convocatoria). To cover transportation costs, faculty members may submit the appropriate application for a long-term stay to the Office of Internationalization.

Requirements

There must be some form of contractual relationship between the participant and the UFV.

Authorization from the Dean of the School or the Department Chair.

Proficiency in the language in which classes, seminars, training sessions, or research will be conducted (normalmente inglés nivel mínimo B2 en el caso de movilidades de formación como la asistencia a International Weeks y un nivel C1 en el caso de actividades docentes). For language courses, no minimum proficiency level is required.

For long-term mobility programs, each case will be reviewed individually by the Mobility Committee, taking into account the project and the budget outlined in the proposal.

For virtual exchange programs, the application will be subject to the requirements of each call for applications.
