Submission of a 20-page reflective paper written at the end of their bilateral exchange or Erasmus program—whether for academic studies or an internship—for which the student may earn 1 ECTS credit.
In the reflective assignment, students should discuss details of their academic, personal, and social lives: the host university, course content, relationships with students and professors at the host institution, the search for housing, social life, opportunities to work at the host institution, and their interactions and work with their home faculty at UFV and the Office of International Relations before, during and after their exchange, culture shock, emotional highs, lessons learned…
In this course, we will also pose a fundamental question to guide students throughout their exchange: “What remains within me even though I am far from my roots?”. At the end of the course, students will be asked to explain whether the exchange was worthwhile for them or not, and why.
