Objective and calls for applications

This aid is intended for students who can demonstrate good academic performance and whose financial and family circumstances require it (el Grado en Medicina queda excluido de las Ayudas económicas UFV en su primer curso de acceso a la UFV).

Francisco de Vitoria University reserves the right to modify the information regarding its scholarship, grant, and discount policies for future academic years.

First call: May 5 to June 30, 2025

Second call: July 10 to July 25, 2025

How do I apply?

Grants, scholarships, and discounts can be requested online through the following channels, always within the established deadlines and by logging in with the corresponding username and password:

Information

Requirements

Grades obtained during the first and second years of high school or equivalent will be taken into account, along with the results of the admission test and the financial circumstances of the family unit.

Financial aid may be requested for all academic years except the final year of each degree program. For final years, students may apply for an Honor Credit (en caso de necesidad económica) or some of our discounts (en caso de cumplir con los requisitos de estos).

Amount

A maximum discount of 30% can be obtained on monthly payments; therefore, it does not apply to the initial enrollment fee or the reservation fee.

The granting of this aid will be subject to the following estimated income thresholds not being exceeded:

For each additional eligible member, €3,200 will be added.

Documentation

Minimum required documentation:

Copy of the 2024 income tax return of the members of the family unit required to file it. If there is no obligation to the tax authorities, a certificate of assets or charges must be submitted, as well as a negative certificate from the tax authorities. This certification can be obtained immediately and free of charge from the Tax Agency's website.

Proof of income for the last few months (3 nóminas en caso de trabajadores por cuenta ajena; en caso de profesiones liberales y autónomos las últimas 4 declaraciones trimestrales del I.V.A. o documentos análogos). All members of the family unit with income from work must submit the documentation.

Justification of other income (viudedad, orfandad, incapacidad, si fuera el caso).

Letter explaining your financial and family situation.

In the case of independent students, they must also provide proof of ownership or rental agreement for their residence and a joint or individual certificate of residence dated today.

Other documentation depending on circumstances:

Divorce decree and related settlement agreement.

Full certificate of real estate. You can consult this free of charge via the Land Registry's website using a digital signature.

Large family certificate, if applicable.

Certificate of disability of the student, father, mother, or siblings who are members of the family unit.

Medical certificates justifying or supporting the application for financial assistance.

In the case of students studying outside their Autonomous Community, a document certifying residence outside the family home for study purposes and the corresponding proof of payment (alquiler de habitación/piso, residencia universitaria, colegio mayor, etc.).

Certificate from the State Public Employment Service (SEPE), in the case of unemployment.

Additional documentation:

Letters of recommendation.

Others that provide additional information about financial need.

Determination of taxable income

For the purposes of scholarships or financial aid, family income will be calculated by adding together the incomes of each of the eligible family members who earn income of any kind.

The general tax base will be added to the savings tax base.

The amount resulting from the self-assessment will be subtracted from this result.

In the case of members who do not file an income tax return, it will be calculated based on the income and payments or withholdings submitted.

Eligible members of the family unit and calculation of family income

For the calculation of family income and assets for scholarship purposes, the parents and, where applicable, the guardian or person responsible for the applicant, who shall be considered the main breadwinners, shall be counted as members. The applicant, their siblings, minors in permanent foster care or guardianship for the purposes of adoption, and the parents' ascendants who can prove their residence at the same address as the above with the corresponding municipal certificate will also be considered eligible members. To be considered an eligible member, they must be living in the family home as of December 31, 2024. The income of siblings and grandparents will be counted at 50%.

In the event of divorce or legal or de facto separation of the parents, a regulatory agreement and financial documentation from the non-cohabiting parent will be requested.

If the parent with whom the applicant lives is married or in a similar relationship, the partner will be considered a family member for calculation purposes.

In the case of applicants who constitute independent family units, the applicant and his or her spouse, or partner (registrada o no) who is bound by a similar relationship, shall be considered eligible members and primary breadwinners. Children under the age of twenty-five, if any, who live in the same household shall also be considered eligible members.

In cases where the applicant claims emancipation or family and economic independence, regardless of their marital status, they must provide reliable proof that they have sufficient financial means to support such independence, as well as proof of ownership or rental of their usual place of residence. Otherwise, and provided that the proven income is less than the expenses incurred for housing and other expenses considered essential, independence will be deemed unproven and the application cannot be objectively assessed.
