We refer to Complementary Training Activities as an elective subject that encompasses extracurricular or non-regulated activities typical of university life. They allow students to obtain academic recognition (ECTS: European Credit Transfer System) for their participation in cultural, sporting, charitable, cooperative, and student representation activities.
Objective: To broaden students' university experience through activities that promote the development of professional skills, competencies, and knowledge, as well as their comprehensive development as individuals through cross-disciplinary initiatives.
Participation:
- Students can participate in these activities from their first year and throughout their entire degree program.
- They can participate in an unlimited number of activities organized by the University or by their own degree program.
- Only activities carried out by UFV bodies are recognized. No ECTS credits will be awarded for external activities unless there is an agreement or monitoring arrangement with the university.
Academic recognition
- Each activity is assigned a specific number of ECTS credits based on its duration (1 ECTS equivale a 25 horas de trabajo).
- No more than 3 ECTS credits may be obtained for the same activity.
- The ECTS credits obtained are recorded in the student's academic record and are recognized upon enrollment in the corresponding course and upon reaching the required total.
Regulations: AFCs have the same academic rigor as any other subject or curricular practice, and are therefore subject to current regulations, as set out in the regulations and teaching guide.
Double Degree Case: In Double Degrees, as a general rule, students must complete 6 ECTS (en una o dos asignaturas según el plan de estudios) to obtain double recognition in both degrees. Although they must enroll in the course in both degrees, they only take 6 ECTS instead of 12, which means a lighter course load and time savings.
