The European Erasmus+ KA2 Remote_Work EU (Transformación digital para el trabajo en Remoto) project aims to help European SMEs adapt to digital and remote work skills and improve their competitiveness in an environment of increasing digital transformation.
The project partners are based in four countries: FH Joanneum (Austria), GrantXpert (Chipre), Francisco de Vitoria University (España), the Technical Institute of the Heraklion Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Grecia), and the Athens Lifelong Learning Institute (Grecia).
The results of the Remote_Work EU project include:
Francisco de Vitoria University is developing part of this project's programme on digital transformation and remote work for SMEs.
The programme consists of five modules:
TAKE 5: Microlearning for Vocational Skills Development
KA220-VET TAKE5 PROJECT Action: Erasmus+ KA220-VET – Partnerships for Cooperation in Vocational Education and Training Coordinator: Jugendförderverein Parchim/Lübz e.V. (Alemania) Partners: Francisco de Vitoria University Foundation (España), The Learning Edge Ventures (Chipre), ECOLE (Italia), Berufsförderungsinstitut Burgenland (Austria), DMZ Digital Media Zone (Irlanda), and IN-ECOS (Portugal). Duration: 30 months Implementation period: January 2025 – June 2027 Project website: [under development – coming soon]
TAKE5 aims to transform vocational education and training in Europe through the use of digital micro-learning (microlearning) and challenge-based methodologies for the development of core and transferable skills.
The project aims to motivate young vocational training students (FP) through short digital challenges—lasting just five minutes—that foster independence, confidence, and the acquisition of essential skills for employability and lifelong learning.
At the same time, TAKE5 trains vocational education teachers in innovative methodologies, such as the use of recall exercises and challenge-based learning, enabling them to incorporate evidence-based strategies into their daily teaching.
TAKE5 Digital Badge Framework: a micro-credential system that recognizes student achievements and validates the skills acquired at EQF levels 3 and 4. Compendium of 100 5-Minute Digital Challenges: brief, accessible, and gamified resources designed to develop ten key EU competencies: literacy, multilingual competence, numerical reasoning, critical and creative thinking, initiative and entrepreneurship, learning to learn, digital competence, teamwork, active citizenship, and cultural awareness. In-service training for vocational education teachers: programme professional development programme based on the practice of evocation (retrieval practice) and challenge-based learning. “Every Skill Counts” events: national and international gatherings to present results, connect with institutions, businesses, and policymakers, and promote the use of TAKE5 materials across Europe. All materials will be available as open educational resources in multiple languages and can be downloaded for free from the project website.
TAKE5 aims to foster a flexible, inclusive, and evidence-based learning culture within European vocational education and training.
At the local level, the project will support vocational training centers in implementing digital teaching strategies.
At the national level, it will help modernize vocational training programs and strengthen teachers' skills in evidence-based methodologies through digital means.
At the European level, it aligns with the European Skills Agenda, the Osnabrück Declaration, and the EU Digital Education Action Plan, promoting transnational cooperation and sustainable educational innovation.

The SMART-VET project aims to enhance the preparation of vocational training students (FP) participating in international mobility programs by creating an online course guide on “Smart Skills” (habilidades inteligentes).
These skills—adaptability, effective communication, critical and creative thinking, decision-making, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills—are essential for young people to successfully navigate mobility experiences and effectively integrate into diverse work and cultural environments.
SMART-VET is based on the belief that the human factor is key to the success of international mobility programs. For this reason, it seeks to enhance the personal and social skills that foster positive interactions, meaningful learning, and better professional integration.
Smart Skills Online Course Guide: a digital, interactive, and multilingual training program that addresses the key areas of soft skills. Open educational resources: teaching materials, case studies, activities, and videos designed for educators and student-sending organizations. Pilot experiences: implementation and validation of the guide in real-world vocational training contexts in Malta, Italy, and Spain, with the participation of students and teachers. Impact report and recommendations: analysis of training outcomes and improvements in participants’ readiness for international mobility. Dissemination and accessibility: the materials will be available free of charge in multiple languages through the Erasmus+ platforms and the project website.
SMART-VET aims to bridge the gap in transferable skills between vocational training students and the European labor market, thereby improving their employability and adaptability. It also seeks to enhance the quality of international mobility programs, benefiting educational institutions, sending organizations, and host companies. Through cooperation among the three partners, the project also promotes a culture of educational innovation and European collaboration in the field of vocational training.
