Erasmus+ is the programme that supports education, training, youth, and sports in Europe. With a budget of €14.7 billion, it offers opportunities for study, work experience, and volunteering to more than 4 million Europeans.
The programme , which currently runs through 2027, is not just for students. It combines seven previous programs and offers opportunities to a wide range of people and organizations.
The Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (Erasmus Charter for Higher Education-ECHE) provides a general quality framework for European and international cooperation activities that any higher education institution may carry out under the programme . Higher education institutions located in one of the programme countries programme hold an Erasmus Charter for Higher Education to apply for and participate in learning mobility and/or collaboration on innovation and best practices under the programme. The Erasmus Charter is granted for the entire duration of programme (2021-2027).
Obtaining the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education for the 2021–2027 period is not only a requirement for participating in all Erasmus-funded initiatives, but also serves as a “seal of excellence” that will enable UFV to maintain an active presence in strategic projects and prestigious international networks, thereby contributing to the improvement of the quality of its activities and its academic standing. By signing the 2021–2027 Charter, UFV confirms that its participation in the programme is part of its own strategy for modernization and internationalization and recognizes the significant contribution that student and staff mobility makes to the quality of higher education programs.
The new programme for 2021–2027, whose budget has increased by 60% compared to the 2014–2020 period, reaching €25 billion, will open up numerous opportunities for cooperation among higher education institutions.
